Notice of Closure

United Family Center will permanently close on Friday, November 20, 2026.

This decision was made after careful consideration and was not made lightly. Like many small behavioral health clinics serving our community, we are no longer able to sustain the cost of providing care. Please know that this decision is in no way related to any client, family, or the care they have received.

For years, it has been our privilege to serve individuals and families across the Lower Yakima Valley and the Tri-Cities. We are grateful for the trust you placed in us, and for the courage it takes to ask for help. Our priority in the coming weeks is to help every client transition to continued care.

What happens next

  • Services continue through Friday, November 20, 2026. Some appointments before that date may be changed or canceled; if yours is affected, our office will let you know.

  • New clients: We are no longer accepting new clients.

  • Finding a new provider: Provider lists for the Lower Valley, Yakima, and the Tri-Cities are available on our Resources page. Your health plan’s care coordination team and your primary care provider can also help you find a new provider.

  • Medication: If you or your child take medication prescribed by our office, you will receive a call and/or a letter from your provider. Please do not stop any medication on your own.

  • Records: Your records will remain secure and confidential, and will be kept for at least six years after your last date of service (longer for children). You may request a copy at any time, before or after closure

Liz Vossenkemper’s new educational project, The Divergent Village, offers perspective, tools, and teaching for neurodivergent kids and their families. The Divergent Village is not medical care. It does not provide diagnosis, medication, or treatment, and it is not part of United Family Center.
